Amber grain flames first,
then fusel oil spits toffee.
Such fun! Bubblegum!

So many on shelves,

gathering dust and cobwebs.

So few being drunk.

Viking marketing
marauding and pillaging
Orcadian pride.

Who’s been stewing fruit

in the California sun,

under the bear flag?

Forgotten spirit

of communism. Alas,

whisky’s jumped the shark.

Is this an order?

I’d rather sip it slowly

than gulp down sweet spice.

Full frontal attack –

Assault from every angle.

There’s fire in the hole!

Can the past be drunk?

Fritz exhumed lost recipes –

Archeology.

Five centuries late,

the Dutch make sense of malt wine.

Genever? Whisky!

On the patio,

Ginger makes her cameo,

sudden rancio.
